Wing Road Farm, located at 270 Wing Road in Greenfield, NY, was built in 1860 by Daniel Wing. The Wing Family is a Quaker family that dates back to the Plymouth Colony. The farm was purchased from the estate of Emilie Kremp in 2004 by Barbara Linell Glaser. Emilie lived on the farm until her death at age 102. The proceeds of her estate went entirely to the Jane Goodall Foundation at her request. Barbara Linell Glaser and her husband Paul Zachos established the small development company, Linell Lands, for the purpose of acquiring special places for unique purposes. Wing Road Farm was purchased because Linell Lands wanted to preserve local farmland and model a different style of development. Conservation easements held by Saratoga P.L.A.N.  have been placed on 49 of the 120 acres of land to ensure its preservation as a farm, woodland and wetland. For more information on the work of P.L.A.N., visit http://www.saratogaplan.org . The rest of the acreage has been subdivided into 12 lots which are currently available for sale.

Chris and Aaren Harris acted as caretakers of the farm from 2007-2010 and have recently purchased 15 acres of the farm surrounding the farmhouse once belonging to Elihu and Wealthy Wing. The farmhouse lot includes about 8 acres of mixed hardwoods, a 1/4 acre fenced garden, a 50' unheated greenhouse, a half-acre veggie patch,  a fallow pasture and a young orchard of mixed fruits. They grow heirloom vegetables, herbs, shiitake mushrooms, flowers, and fruit and tend a flock of 50 laying hens and ducks.  Aaren learned the trade during a two-year apprenticeship with Certified Organic farmer Chris Lincoln of New Minglewood Farm in Greenwich, NY. Although Wing Road Farm is not Certified Organic, they follow NOP rules and are dedicated to the challenge of balancing their ecosystem without chemicals. Aaren has also attended a "Good Agricultural Practices" training to ensure the safety of the farm's produce.

Wing Road Farm produce has been sold at the Ballston Spa Farmers' Market, the Greenfield Farmers' Market, the Saratoga Farmers' Market, Wild Thyme Market, and through a 20 member CSA. The farm is powered by many tireless volunteers and students. The farm is not currently open to the public. The farmers are currently contemplating the best possible use of this land for the future.
